Seasonal

In human resources, “seasonal” refers to a type of employment or job position that is temporary and typically influenced by the time of year or specific seasons. Seasonal work is often associated with industries that experience fluctuations in demand based on seasons, such as agriculture, retail, hospitality, and tourism.

Employees hired for seasonal positions are generally engaged for a defined period, often during peak times when additional labor is required, such as summer vacations, holidays, or harvest seasons. These workers may be full-time or part-time but generally do not receive the same benefits as permanent employees, as their employment is intended to last only for a short term.

Seasonal employment allows organizations to manage workforce levels more flexibly and can provide individuals with opportunities for temporary work that aligns with their schedules, especially students or those seeking supplemental income.
